Solura Athletic Club (“Solura,” “we,” “us” or “our”) operates fitness and wellness facilities at Mosman and Frenchs Forest, New South Wales, together with the website soluraathletic.com (the “Site”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect, use, store and disclose it, and how you can access, correct or make a complaint about your personal information. By providing your personal information to us, or by using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

The type of personal information we collect depends on your relationship with Solura — for example, whether you are a member, a prospective member, a website visitor, or a guest at one of our clubs. We may collect:

  • Billing and payment information, such as billing address and payment card or bank account details, which are processed by our payment providers.

  • CCTV footage of individuals present at our club premises, collected for the health, safety and security of members, staff and visitors.

  • Automatically through your use of the Site, including via cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5 below).

  • From CCTV cameras operating at our club locations.

  • From third parties, such as payment processors, our website and booking platform providers, and, where applicable, referral partners — but only where you have consented to this or it is otherwise permitted by law.

3. Why We Collect, Use & Disclose Personal Information

We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for the following purposes:

  • To set up and manage your membership, including processing sign-ups, renewals, cancellations and billing.

  • To provide our gym, training, recovery and wellness services and to respond to your enquiries.

  • To communicate with you about your membership, bookings, account or club operations.

  • To send you marketing communications, including promotions, offers and newsletters, where you have opted in (see Section 4).

  • To maintain the health, safety and security of members, staff and visitors at our clubs, including through CCTV monitoring.

  • To operate, maintain and improve the Site and our services, including through website analytics.

  • To comply with our legal, regulatory and accounting obligations, and to resolve disputes or enforce our membership terms.

4. Marketing Communications

With your consent, we may send you marketing communications by email or SMS about Solura promotions, events, new services and offers. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link in our emails, replying “STOP” to SMS messages, or contacting us using the details in Section 10. Opting out of marketing communications will not affect other communications relevant to your membership, such as billing or account notices.

5. Cookies and Website Analytics

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as those provided by our website platform and marketing tools) to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. This may include analytics and, where enabled, advertising cookies that help us measure the performance of our marketing.

6. CCTV at Our Clubs

For the safety and security of our members, staff and visitors, and to protect our premises and equipment, we operate CCTV cameras at our Mosman and Frenchs Forest locations. CCTV footage is used only for security, safety and incident-management purposes, is accessed only by authorised personnel, and is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary before being securely deleted or overwritten, unless required for a specific investigation or legal purpose. CCTV is not installed in areas where it would be inappropriate, such as change rooms or bathrooms.

7. Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose personal information to:

  • Our staff, who require access to perform their roles.

  • Service providers who assist us with payment processing, membership and booking management, website hosting, email and SMS marketing, and IT services.

  • Professional advisers, such as our accountants, auditors or lawyers, where reasonably necessary.

  • Government or regulatory bodies, or other parties, where required or authorised by law, or to protect the safety of any person.

Some of our service providers (for example, cloud hosting, email marketing or payment platforms) may store or process personal information on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles or an equivalent standard of protection.

Access and correction: You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details in Section 10. We will respond within a reasonable time and, in most cases, without charge, unless an exception under the Privacy Act applies.
